ERGO SUM

2010

“Women has to go hand by hand almost constantly by the image she has of herself. Her own way of being is supplanted by the feeling of being appreciated as such for the other. In this way, she becomes an object, particularly a visual one.”
John Berger

The play takes as a starting point the construction of being through another’s gaze. Wich is the fundamental role this gaze plays? Wich are the behaviors we adopt to like and be accepted  by the different looks that corss us constantly? From this concepts we question the female universe, since the woman has been conditioned trhough history by another’s gaze and the need to be aesthetically pleasing.
